Falcarraigh Beach: At least two miles long and often deserted. Wild and west facing -- good for surfing. Great views of mountains and Tory Island. In Falcarraigh at the crossroads, take the turn past the Loft Bar on your right. Follow the road and turn right at the t-junction. Follow keeping left for another mile or so and the car park is close to the beach.
Marble Hill: The most popular beach with locals. Packed in summer. Hosts the New Year's Day Swim!
Tramore Strand: Take the road to Horn Head from Dunfanaghy, and park near the football field. Walk a half mile across the Dunes to the beach. Wonderful orchids on the dunes in June and July.
Ballymastocker Beach: said to be amongst the most beautiful beaches in the world. East facing and therefore calmer and safer than Atlantic beaches. Approach it from the South for great hairpin bends and views across Lough Swilly to Inishowen. Portsalon, to the north of the beach, has been ruined by holiday homes, but there is still a fine pub by the pier.
Beaches at Ards: Small, sheltered beaches can be approached either from Ards Forest Park car park (a charge to enter the Forest Park), or from the Franciscan friary at Ards -- which also has a tearoom.
